Carcassonne, the beautiful city
with its fairy tale looking medieval fortress, the "Cité",
world cultural heritage of
the UNESCO. But the fortress is not the only place worth visiting but also
the "new city", la Bastide Saint Louis, where you can go on a nice city stroll
with many charming cafés.

The "Canal
du Midi",
likewise
cultural heritage of the
UNESCO, in Carcassonne and Bram. This channel was built already in the 17th
century at the time of Louis XIV and connects the Atlantic with the
Mediterranean Sea. It is very popular for trips with the houseboat.
